We push the limits of innovation to solve the world's most important challenges—striving for execution excellence, while being direct, humble, collaborative, and inclusive of diverse perspectives. Join us as we shape the future of AI and beyond. Together, we advance your career.
THE ROLE:
As a Senior SoC Design Architect, you will define and drive micro-architecture specifications and execution methodologies for advanced chip designs. You'll collaborate across architecture, verification, and physical design teams to ensure cohesive and efficient implementation. This role offers flexibility and visibility, empowering you to shape your contributions and influence project outcomes.
THE PERSON:
The ideal candidate has a strong foundation in digital design and a keen interest in areas such as computer architecture, logic design and verification, design-for-test (DFT), synthesis, static timing analysis (STA), power optimization, and physical design—including floorplanning, full-chip timing, and place-and-route. While deep expertise in all areas is not expected, the candidate should demonstrate the ability to learn quickly and adapt to evolving technical challenges.
Strong communication, organizational, and teamwork skills are essential, along with a proactive approach to problem-solving across tools, flows, and pre-silicon execution. Proficiency in scripting languages such as Perl, Tcl, or Python is required. The candidate should be comfortable balancing collaborative efforts with independent initiative.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Study both high-level and micro-architecture specifications and use Computer Architecture knowledge and background to gain an in depth understanding of new features or changes proposed in new projects.
- Automate (using scripting language) any execution flow that lacks efficiency or consumes more time to complete after discussing the overall picture and required data structure to make that happen.
- Study/Understand full chip floorplan and come up with Network on Chip by considering different factors stemming from behavioral design to physical design.
- Write comprehensive documents spelling out details of one work and train other while moving on to another task.
- Manage and monitor changes in the given tasks are project matures and be quick on the feet to re-align with new or different requirements.
- Write and edit scripts in csh, Perl, Python, or Ruby to automate workflows as needed
- Research and document various pre silicon execution methods and thereby helping leads in assessing and coin new methodologies.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
- Strong understanding of computer architecture and digital logic design.
- Experience in static timing analysis (STA), clocking strategies, and power optimization.
- Proficiency in Verilog or SystemVerilog; familiarity with UVM is a plus.
- Skilled in scripting languages such as Perl, Tcl, Ruby, Bash, or Python.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively in cross-functional teams.
ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline.
