SENIOR SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT ENGINEER 

 

THE ROLE:

 

You will be working on our in-house compute & graphics test suite, which is used for automated regression testing & new HW generation bring-up by various teams across AMD, as well as R&D.

 

THE PERSON:

 

The ideal candidate is a highly self-motivated, skilled software designer and engineer, fluent in C/C++ who has practical, up-to-date experience working directly with graphics APIs. Able to communicate effectively and work optimally with different software & hardware teams across AMD's time zones.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Debug / fix existing issues and research alternative, more efficient ways to accomplish the same work
  • Implement API-specific support for features required by new tests.
  • Introduce test coverage for features requested by test suite's users.
  • Work on related tooling.
  • Work with teams to analyze & help resolve driver-side regressions.

 

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Strong object-oriented programming background, C/C++ preferred.
  • Ability to write high-quality code with a keen attention to detail.
  • Experience with modern concurrent programming and threading APIs.
  • Experience with software development processes and tools such as debuggers, source code control systems (GitHub, Perforce) and profilers.
  • Practical experience working directly with at least one API from the list: Direct3D 11, Direct3D 12, OpenGL 4.x (Core Profile), Vulkan
  • Practical experience working with CUDA, HIP or OpenCL.

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS: 

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent
