USB IP Firmware Engineer

 

THE ROLE: 

 

We are looking for an  Engineer with an obsession for firmware. As part of the role, you will work closely with other firmware engineers, developers and architects across various IPs in leading the designs and implementing firmware that spans pre-silicon and post-silicon for all AMD SoCs.  

 

THE PERSON: 

You are passionate about firmware development with creative and effective problem-solving skills, a motivated, self-starter who can work both independently and collaboratively in fast paced environments. You have excellent technical communication, interpersonal and leadership skills. 

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • The successful candidate will assume end to end responsibility for pre-silicon and post-silicon activities related to USB IP in AMD products.
  • Develop and execute feature enablement and test plans for USB IP.
  • Writing firmware for embedded u-controllers in C
  • Debugging and solving system-level issues that may occur in test environments and platforms.
  • Prototype FW USB features for future SOC.
  • Develop test automation infrastructure and scripts.
  • Proactively driving improvement with all touchpoints.

 

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: 

  • Experience with developing and debugging system software or firmware for embedded systems.
  • Excellent knowledge of C or C++ and a scripting languages.
  • Deep understanding of digital processing and power electronics.
  • Good understanding of computer architectures.
  • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong analytical skills and pronounced attention to details.
  • Must be a self-starter, and able to independently drive tasks to completion.
  • USB IP experience would be an advantage.
  • Security/cryptography experience is an asset.

 

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS: 

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree (preferred) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent with a minimum of 9 years of experience.
