SMTS SOFTWARE SYSTEMS DESIGN ENGINEER 

THE ROLE:

MTS Engineer with subject matter expertise and a hands-on technical role. Need the ability to forecast the issues in the cutting-edge features. Required keen attention to detail to implementation and design. Ability to solve the problem by isolating the issues, root causing, and drive to fix capabilities. Must be an innovative thinker and apply the knowledge to solve problems in conventional and unconventional ways.

THE PERSON: 

This AMD (Advanced Micro Devices) team is looking for a senior level person that can help guide the team, mentor upcoming developers, provide long range strategy, and is willing to jump in to help resolve issues quickly. You will be involved in all areas that impact the team including performance, automation, and development.  The right candidate will be informed on the latest trends and become prepared to give consultative direction to senior management.  

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Drive innovation for operational efficiencies using Deep Learning and Machine Learning Algorithms
• Identify opportunities, strategize roadmaps and apply next-generation algorithms at various stages of Software Lifecycle such as Dev Testing, Integration, Whitebox/Blackbox Testing of device drivers
• Craft innovation recommendations, create Proofs-of-Concept (POCs), and build solutions from POCs
• Provide user guidance and implementation support
• Perform periodic evaluations for performance analysis and model improvements
• Analyze existing infrastructure and optimize the same
• Be a thought leader and an innovation agent influencing strategic decisions in the team
• Collaborate across teams, locations and levels

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

• 8+ years of relevant experience
• Solid background in AI/ML/DL, including model design, pruning & performance optimization, transfer learning etc.
• 5+ years of experience in leading cross-module projects and taking them to production
• Hands-on expertise with one or more Deep Learning Frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, Keras etc
• Hands-on expertise in one of the scripting languages (Python, Perl etc.)Hands-on expertise in database manipulation (preferably SQL Server etc.)
• Hands-on experience with tools such as Jenkins, Dockers, Kubernetes etc.
• Strong understanding of parallel computer architectures, execution engines, drivers, O.S. fundamentals
• Experience with KNIME is strongly preferred.
