THE PERSON:
 

The Platform Drivers team is on lookout for a dynamic, energetic software engineer who can design, develop, and maintain clean and robust code. If you understand the intricacies of Linux kernel and device drivers, this is the role for you. Join us!

 

As a key contributor to the success of AMD's IP, you will be part of a leading team to drive and enhance AMD's abilities to deliver the highest quality, industry leading technologies to market.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Candidate's primary responsibility is developing Linux (Ubuntu/RHEL) Drivers for AMD products.
  • Design and implement functionality to support new HW, SW or OS specifications.
  • Good understanding on Linux kernel internals.
  • Working experience on the Kernel power management frameworks.
  • Reproduce, debug, and resolve platform/IO driver issues with specific hardware and software contexts.

 

 PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: 

  • Good programming skills in C for operating system, kernel & systems development
  • Solid understanding and experience with the Linux kernel and related upstream development workflow
  • Deep Knowledge of Computer Architecture and Kernel Internals
  • Good understanding of operating systems concepts, data structures, x86-64 architecture
  • Proficient use of git
  • Python, Shell Scripting an added advantage
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision on more than one task in parallel.
  • Must be self-starter.
  • Good communication and time management skills.

 

 ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS: 

  • Bachelors/master's in engineering.
  • At least 2 - 3 years of job experience, with Linux driver development experience.
