Join us as we shape the future of AI and beyond.  Together, we advance your career.

The Role: Solution Architect, Enterprise – AI Compute and Networking

We are looking for our next team member to help AMD drive a new era of computing in the data center. In this role, you will engage with key enterprise AI customers, cloud service providers, and strategic software and platform partners to demonstrate AMD's technology differentiators — addressing real-world business challenges through innovative compute and networking solutions.

As an Enterprise Solution Architect, you will provide deep technical expertise and architectural guidance across AMD's data center portfolio, spanning server processors, accelerators, and interconnect technologies, as well as the software ecosystem — including AI/ML frameworks, libraries, and large language model (LLM) and Visual AI workloads.

You will support strategic commercial accounts within defined regions or verticals, partnering closely with the commercial sales organization and field engineering leadership to meet sales and account objectives. You will also serve as a technical mentor to team members, helping them address complex customer challenges and build their own solution expertise.

This position places special emphasis on AI workload and platform optimization. The successful Solution Architect will develop a deep technical understanding of AMD's server CPU and GPU architectures, the ROCm and open software ecosystems, and the performance characteristics of modern AI and HPC workloads. You will synthesize this knowledge to assess and optimize application performance at the node, rack, and datacenter level, guiding customers on best practices for compute and network architecture, deployment, and scaling.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage with enterprise and AI-focused customers to architect and optimize AMD-based solutions for AI training, inference, and data analytics workloads.
  • Provide technical leadership on compute and networking architectures, including CPU/GPU system design, memory hierarchy, interconnects, and storage integration.
  • Drive software ecosystem enablement across frameworks and libraries such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, JAX, Triton, ROCm, and open-source LLM stacks.
  • Collaborate with partners and ISVs to validate and benchmark AI workloads — including LLMs, text-to-image models, and generative AI pipelines.
  • Work closely with AMD field engineering, sales, and product teams to align technical engagements with business priorities.
  • Deliver technical training, workshops, and architectural guidance to internal teams and external partners.
  • Contribute to the broader technical community through documentation, best practices, and technical presentations.

Preferred Experience:

  • Proven experience as a senior-level solution architect, systems engineer, or equivalent technical role, with a strong track record of success in customer-facing engagements across enterprise or hyperscale environments.
  • Demonstrated expertise in one or more key domains, including AI/ML and generative AI workloads, cloud computing, software-defined infrastructure, or data analytics.
  • Deep understanding of the AI software ecosystem, including frameworks (e.g., PyTorch, TensorFlow, JAX), libraries, compilers, LLM and text-to-image model stacks, and profiling and optimization tools.
  • Hands-on experience architecting and configuring server and accelerator systems, including compute, networking, and storage infrastructure for AI training and inference workloads.
  • Solid knowledge of server and data center hardware architecture — spanning CPU, GPU, memory hierarchy, interconnects, and system design — at the node, rack, and cluster level.
  • Experience in application and workload profiling, performance tuning, and scalability assessment for large AI and HPC environments.
  • Strong ability to translate complex technical architectures into clear value propositions for enterprise and cloud customers.
