THE ROLE:

As a Senior Silicon Design Engineer, you will work with experts in Physical Design for high-speed microprocessors and leading CMOS technologies.

 

The Role: 

This is an opportunity to join AMD's CPU Core design team focusing on Physical Design. This opportunity covers synthesis place and route, timing closure, physical and electrical analysis for blocks over 1 million gates. 

 

The Person: 

As part of the AMD CPU cores team, you will a wide range of techniques to build industry-leading microprocessors. You are a team player who has excellent communication skills. You have strong analytical and problem-solving skills and are willing to learn and ready to take on problems. 

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • This individual will be responsible for participating and driving large design blocks from the early design stage to tape out.
  • Work responsibilities include synthesizing extremely high-speed designs, following through with Place and Route analyzing design results, and making changes to the RTL code as needed.
  • Work involves daily interaction with other physical designers as well as with RTL/Logic designers.

 

 Preferred Skills: 

  • Knowledge of Logic Design and Synthesis.
  • Experience with Timing Closure, Circuit Design, Electrical Closure, and Memory Compiler Work.
  • Proven understanding of RTL, microarchitecture, Physical Design CAD tools, and scripting languages (Perl, Python)
  • Knowledge of high-speed microprocessor designs and architecture.
  • Ability to work independently on complex tasks.
  • Knowledge of current sub-micro technologies.

 

Academic Credentials:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree required with emphasis in Electrical Engineering or Computer Systems Engineering
