THE ROLE:

We are in search of a Sr. Manager - Silicon Design Engineering  to lead a team working on the leading-edge super high-speed IO and execute projects to deliver AMD SOC required USB features.

 

THE PERSON:

The successful candidate will play a key role in leading, driving, and executing key technical projects for leading-edge super high-speed I/O. Must have strong managerial skills to effectively lead a design team.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead RTL design development for USB IP blocks in Verilog HDL, make sure functional correctness, and reusability for different product lines
  • Work in close collaboration with the design engineering teams, managers, and directors on the various efforts involved in IP development and integration
  • Responsible for projects of significant strategies to meet AMD roadmap
  • Responsible for leading, driving, and delivering of key projects' milestones
  • Lead and guide the teams to solve problems requiring cutting edge approaches and champions innovation across the organizations
  • Make technical decisions that have a significant impact on product families, go to market strategies, and customer satisfaction
  • Coaches and mentors experienced staff

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum 15 years' experience with at least 5 years of Management experience
  • High Speed IO IP design project management experience of project team size 10 or above (Direct and Indirect)
  • Specialized knowledge of USB 3.0/3.1/3.2 or Thunderbolt in protocol and link layers is preferred. Specialized knowledge of PCIE or AMBA is a plus.
  • Expert of IP micro-architecture and Verilog RTL design on large size digital IP.
  • Considered technical leader across projects and departmental boundaries and has a proven track record for sustained innovation
  • Excellent on communication, presentation, and documentation. Well organized, and detail-oriented characteristics
  • Work is performed with limited supervision. Strong sense of task scheduling and on time delivery based on predetermined milestones committed to upper management.
  • Can solve complex, novel and non-recurring problems, initiates significant changes to existing processes/methods and leads development and implementation.
  • People managerial experience and the ability to effectively manage a design team
  • Support and work with international teams (China, Taiwan, Malaysia)

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:

  • MS degree of EE or CS
