SENIOR PROGRAM MANAGEMENT ANALYST 

 

THE ROLE: 

The Technical Program Management Analyst is expected to work closely with team lead(s) to coordinate a broad range of ASIC development work including micro-architecture specification, RTL design, pre-silicon functional, power and performance verification, timing closure and post-Silicon bring-up and debug support.

The role is part of a fast-paced Graphics Core IP team delivering to multiple projects across different architectural generations simultaneously while balancing work on several medium and long-term initiatives for quality and productivity improvement.

 

THE PERSON: 

This dynamic role will require a balance of technical aptitude and organizational skills. You will be the main interface driving strategic technology across multiple engineering teams. The position requires a highly collaborative mindset, exceptional communication skills and ability to present to and engage with stakeholders and leaders at multiple levels.

The ideal candidate for this role is highly motivated, diligent, well-organized, and detail oriented. The person should be familiar with different tools and methodologies used for project management and have a background in Computer or Electrical Engineering or similar.

 

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Own the planning and delivery of different AMD products, through coordination with engineering and other internal and external stakeholders 
  • Program manages cross-functional teams, influencing and supervising the overall ecosystem workflow, and forging positive relationships with various teams within AMD
  • Own the deployment and usage of Agile methodology; especially the Kanban workflow used by our teams
  • Create and maintain development staging plans by working with the technical team to create work breakdown structures from high level feature descriptions
  • Identify critical paths, long-poles to schedule and risk by independently analyzing work breakdown structures and team staffing profiles, other internal/external opportunities and risk
  • Regularly provide top-level view to leadership on different areas of work
  • Make recommendations to leadership team to help improve efficiency, productivity or reduce schedule risk overall, e.g. staff rotations
  • Be responsible for regular tracking of progress to ensure delivery on schedule
  • Strong documentation and communication skills will be called upon frequently, especially in delivering streamlined, clear, and concise information to cross-functional stakeholders and leadership teams

 

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: 

  • Combination of strong technical background with interest in Program/Project Management 
  • Understanding of computer architecture with exposure to device drivers, firmware and/or graphics technology 
  • Experience with JIRA, Confluence and Excel
  • Experience with Agile methodology 
  • Comfortable with scripting, automation and data visualization
  • Experience with Microsoft Project or other planning tools an asset
  • Experience as a Kanban Coach or Workflow Manager an asset
  • High attention to detail and good critical thinking skills
  • Experience coordinating a mid-size project from beginning (concept-phase) to completion an asset

 

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS: 

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in computer engineering, Computer Science or Electrical Engineering
