Senior System Software Engineer

THE ROLE:

Virtual Bring-Up team also known as Fast Platform Modeling team is seeking a senior system-software developer to join in SRDC.

Fast Platform Models simulate software visible behavior of AMD's next generation designs.

They are designed to enable pre-silicon development of system and application software and facilitate hybrid, performance, and power modeling.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Develop functional test plan and tests for SW visible Graphics architecture features.
• Work with emulation and performance modeling teams on hybrid models.
• Work with variant firmware (SBIOS, VBIOS, bootloader) teams, kernel mode driver team and Diagnostic teams on fast models for pre-silicon verification.
• Develop architectural models of Graphics core and other IPs such as multimedia etc.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

• Experience in application and system software development in C++ in Windows and/or Linux environments.
• Experience with functional or performance modeling and analysis will be a plus.
• Know about OpenCL, OpenGL, ROCm or other general purpose compute runtimes will be a plus.
• Know about developing or debugging Windows and/or Linux/Android graphics drivers would be plus.
• Know about 3D graphics architecture, including shaders, shading languages and rendering techniques will be a plus.

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:

• B.S or higher in Computer Engineering or Computer Science.
• Good understanding of computer architectural, operating system, BIOS/bootloader, device driver.
