THE ROLE:  

Provides hands-on support for the fabrication, assembly, and test of electronic devices, assemblies, and systems on a wide and diverse number of fronts.  

 

THE PERSON:  

You are a dynamic, hands-on person who thrives in a self-directed learning environment that encourages technical growth.  

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:  

  • Troubleshoot, debug and perform routine measurements on electronic assemblies, subsystems and/or systems using common lab equipment and special test equipment

  • Interpret engineering drawings, change orders, and work instructions to perform “hands-on” work in compliance with documentation

  • Install components and parts on chassis, circuit boards, panels, and other equipment using power tools, hand tools, and approved soldering techniques

  • Set up standard test apparatus and conduct tests and demonstrations of experimental, prototype, and deliverable hardware; record test data following defined methods and present data in prescribed form

  • Build prototype or deliverable equipment, lay out and assemble components and circuitry, and modify equipment in accordance with engineering drawings, sketches, schematics, technical manuals, etc.

  • Perform all responsibilities in accordance with lab procedures and safety policy. Maintain organized and clean work area  

 

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:  

  • Must possess basic knowledge of electronic test equipment such as an oscilloscope, digital multi-meter, logic analyzer, etc.

  • Ability to read and interpret schematic diagrams and technical manuals

  • Motivated, detail-oriented self-starter with ability to work independently and as part of a team

  • Proven ability to quickly learn new systems and processes, and adaptable to change in a professional manner

  • Must possess good organizational, time management, multi-tasking, decision-making, and logical troubleshooting skills

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills  

 

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:  

  • Associate degree in Engineering or similar field
