THE ROLE:
Represent AMD's manufacturing forces and collaborate with AMD world-wide supporting teams to drive OSAT's performance and achieve business and engineering objectives. Interact with tier-1 suppliers to solve manufacturing issues, including OSAT in Taiwan, Korea, Singapore, Malaysia and China. Support cross-functional projects such including new product introduction, new supplier qualification and quality improvements. Manage NPI implement to OSAT, product transfer within OSAT, involvement in NPI qualification stage, engineering data collection, low volume production to mass production. Interface with OSAT factional group such NPI, product team, equipment team to resolve the obstacles, issue that impact to the new product implementation. Manage OSAT on production's KPI, work with OSAT engineering team to ensure NPI and sustaining product meeting the POR yield, cycle time, throughput, efficiency.
THE PERSON:
Good at communication with fluent English, clear 2-3 years self-career plan and strong self-learning, initiative and patience.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- On-site trouble shooting of equipment and test H/W issues – tester, handler, prober, ATC, probe card, load board, interface board, socket, change kits and BI boards.
- Perform products yield analysis, identify problematic test setup/equipment. Conduct discussion with supplier engineering team for recovery and develop KPI tracking.
- Coordinate with AMD HWI team to qualify new test setup and prepare for production ramp; ensure H/W performance repeatability during site transfer.
- Improves equipment maintenance efficiency by analyzing performance matrices, MTBF, utilization and drive maintenance procedure optimization.
- Assures test hardware quality by monitoring KPI trends, matrices, yields and maintenance records. Ensure traceability and retention of equipment maintenance records and inventory information.
- Conduct weekly H/W status review with OSAT and provide weekly update reports for management review.
- Monitor and report H/W design issues during HVM phase; investigate issue and propose solution or work-around. Implement fixes and patches to assure test H/W stability and quality in HVM.
- Keeps equipment operational by coordinating maintenance and repair services, following manufacturer's instructions and established procedures.
- Completes design and development projects by training and guiding technicians.
- Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops and trainings.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
- B.S. or M.S. in Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Mechanical, Physics or related experience.
- > 10 years of experience in Program management, test hardware troubleshooting and maintenance.
- Equipment debugging using customized diagnostics and OS's on a bench or in System Level Test platform.
- Excellent working knowledge of Advantest 93000 PS400/800/1600 tester for characterization and production testing.
- Very familiar with TEL Precio/Prexa prober, Hontech handler, Delta Summit handler and ATC – configuration, change kits and setup procedures. Knowledge of Advantest GS1 handler is a plus.
- Knowledge of GPIB interface and protocol.
- Pareto analysis experience to drive a debug process.
- Familiar with logic analyzers, voltmeters, oscilloscopes, and other debug tools.
- Microsoft standard apps (i.e. Office), Microsoft Windows Operating Systems.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work with geographically distributed product engineering teams.
- Familiar with equipment GR&R/MSA, performance correlation, new-tool release process.
- Experience managing projects of 1-3 months duration.
