Pediatric Anesthesia
StartDate: ASAP Pay Rate: $345000.00 - $393000.00

The University of California, San Francisco (UCSF), Department of Anesthesia and Perioperative Care is seeking pediatric anesthesiology faculty to work at Benioff Children's Hospital Oakland (BCH Oakland) as a part of a team emphasizing high-quality, patient-centered perioperative care with a focus on evidence-based medicine. This is an outstanding opportunity to practice 100% pediatric anesthesiology and join an established Anesthesia Department with a national reputation of excellence in education, research, and perioperative care.

\u0009\u0009\u0009Anesthesia faculty participate on a team of approximately 23 faculty members working at BCH Oakland as a part of the UCSF Department of Anesthesia and Perioperative Care. In addition to pediatric operating room care, the pediatric division in Oakland has essential roles in patient care outside of the operating rooms, with active participation in Ambulatory Care, Acute and Chronic Pain, the Preoperative Clinic and the BCH Oakland Level 1 Pediatric Trauma Center.

\u0009\u0009\u0009UCSF Health encompasses five main campuses -- the UCSF Helen Diller Medical Center at Parnassus Heights, the Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital (a Level 1 Trauma Center), Mt. Zion Medical Center, Benioff Children's in Oakland, and Benioff Children's, Betty Irene Moore Women's and Bakar Cancer Hospitals at Mission Bay, as well as a pediatric ambulatory surgery center in Walnut Creek. BCH Oakland Anesthesia faculty may have the opportunity to work at these additional medical centers, if desired.

\u0009\u0009\u0009Successful applicants are board certified/board eligible in pediatric anesthesiology and demonstrate an aptitude for and dedication to medical education and providing evidence-based, high-quality care in clinical teams that enhance the patient experience with a commitment to patient safety and satisfaction. Applicants are expected to teach residents and medical students; participate in University service, faculty meetings, monthly Grand Rounds, and M&M conferences; contribute to quality assurance programs and continuing education, and advance the mission of the department.

\u0009\u0009\u0009The successful candidate must meet the following qualifications by time of hire:\u0009\u0009\u0009

  • Must hold an MD, DO, or equivalent degree and be board eligible or certified in Anesthesia.
  • Must possess a valid California Medical License
  • Must be Pediatric Anesthesia Fellowship trained or have equivalent advanced training and/or experience beyond that of anesthesia residency training.
  • Applicant's materials must list (pending) qualifications upon submission.
  • Applicant must have all requirements met by time of hire.
  • Salary and academic rank will be commensurate with experience and achievements.
