BAE Systems is seeking an experienced thermal / fluids analyst to join our team at our Minneapolis location. The primary responsibilities would be working with one or more Weapon Systems programs under the direction of a senior analyst to determine and meet their thermal / fluids analysis needs. This is a great opportunity for a graduating master's student.

As a Fluid and Thermal Sciences Analyst, you will be:

  • Working with senior analyst and program engineers to determine program analysis needs and determining the appropriate analysis tools for meeting the needs.
  • Driving the analysis throughout the entire process, from choosing the appropriate tools and collecting the necessary inputs to performing the simulation on internal computing assets and other computations as needed.
  • Working with our internal materials group to gather or measure the needed material properties.
  • Interfacing with analysts at various government sites to discuss and share analysis results.
  • Providing detailed results and recommendations to the senior analyst and program engineers.
  • Preparing detailed reports of the analysis process for future use of the analysis group.


Required Education, Experience, & Skills
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Chemical Engineering or closely related field and 2 years relevant experience or Master's Degree in closely related field.
  • Demonstrated educational background or experience in fluid / thermal engineering science.
  • Working familiarity with standard engineering tools such as programming languages (C++, Python) and analysis systems (Matlab).
  • Ability to solve problems with incomplete input.
  • Demonstrated verbal and written communications skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively and respectfully work with others.


Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
  • Master's Degree or PhD in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or Chemical Engineering.
  • Familiarity with Ansys tools.
  • Experience with laboratory testing and instrumentation.
  • Experience working in cross-functional teams.
  • Current Secret Clearance preferred.


Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $75570 - $128480

Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
