You are just as comfortable in a lab - teaching proper electronic circuit board assembly - as you are in Yokosuka, Japan, leading troubleshooting efforts on a previously unknown and particularly elusive AN/UPX-29(V) IFF system integration problem while under close customer observation. Your breadth of experience influences others to consistently seek you out for your ability to quickly grasp and understand – on a deeply technical level – the issues at hand and you deftly point out solutions.

  • Act as the Alteration Installation Team (AIT) Lead during shipboard installations in accordance with the requirements of NAVSEA's TS9090.310G.
  • Successfully plan and conduct AIT Regional Maintenance and Modernization Coordination Office (RMMCO) check-in and check-out processes.
  • Spearhead the technical and professional development of your team, actively grooming them to be the next generation of SME's.
  • Provide detailed and in-depth training to shipboard IFF system technicians on the AN/UPX-29(V) system upgrades installed by your team.
  • Provide technical services in support of the AN/UPX-29(V) Interrogator System during grooms, Combat System Ship Qualification Trials (CSSQT), Material Condition Assessments (MCA), and Aegis Light-Off Assessments (ALOA).
  • Interface directly with ship's force department heads and other high level leadership to provide status updates and recommend corrective action.

Must be willing to travel 25-35% of the time to assist with shipboard/shore-based system installations and test events and will work onboard ships to accomplish assignments. Must be comfortable climbing to go aloft for antenna inspections and lifting/carrying heavy objects. May be required to work overtime hours or weekends to support installations and test events and will occasionally perform work in disagreeable environmental conditions.
