Job Description
Because this role involves a combination of collaborative/in-person and independent work, it will take the form of a hybrid work format, with time split between working onsite and remotely.

The Information System Operations Lead is the primary liaison for all services running in the VC3 Datacenters. Main duties include operational visibility of services supported among multiple teams, planning and communicating scheduled maintenance and service changes, and taking primary ownership during service degradation.

Concretely, this includes the following:

  • Track service versions, service staffing (points of contact), planned service changes and make sure this information is easily available (i.e. on the wiki)
  • Communicate service availability, planned changes, and planned/unplanned outages to tenants through multiple communication channels (email, chat)
  • During an outage, become the information hub and control center by making sure service interruptions are addressed in a timely manner (i.e. making sure the service owners are aware of the outage and working to fix it), getting the service status from designated points of contact, keeping tenants informed, and making decisions on fixes while keeping key stakeholders apprised of the situation
  • Maintain awareness of VC3 priorities, upcoming milestones, possible roadblocks, and requirements for success within target timelines
  • Focus on process improvement in documentation, scrum practices, and team coordination
  • Meet regularly with key stakeholders to calibrate on team processes and priorities

Required Education, Experience, & Skills
  • US Citizenship with the ability to obtain and hold a security clearance.
  • Qualified candidate should be a clear communicator, comfortable in giving and taking directions, and able to field questions and concerns from tenants, would best fill this position.
  • Knowledgeable about the VC3 service offerings or quickly gain an understanding of how they support the business.
  • They should be familiar with a broad range of technical concepts sufficient enough to help troubleshoot and properly communicate the issue to tenants and key stakeholders.
  • Able to have a deep understanding in a specialty area to become point of contact for one or more services themselves, specifically in the area of emerging technology.

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
  • Hold an active TS or TS/SCI security clearance
