Job Description
The selected candidate will be part of a dynamic team providing technical and engineering services to USMC Air Traffic Control Systems worldwide. Will support electronic system, component installation, integration, troubleshooting, and repair. Will develop training curriculum and materials for fleet training evolutions. Will also review, write, and update technical documentation. Will be required to work independently and as part of a small team.

The hourly rate for this position is set by the Dept of Labor and is not negotiable. Current rate is $28.79/hr.

This position is located in scenic and historic Southern Maryland in the St. Mary's County Technology Corridor adjacent to the Patuxent River Naval Air Station.

There is no monetary relocation assistance budgeted for this position. Applicants must be currently residing in or state willingness to relocate self to St. Mary's County, Maryland or surrounding areas.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills

  • High school diploma and completion of U.S. Navy Electronics “C” School or equivalent
  • At least 8 years of experience in electronic systems, including installing electronic systems equipment and designing, preparing and modifying engineering documents and drawings
  • At least 4 years of experience in Navy/Marine Corps ATC systems (within the last three 3 years)
  • Ability to provide electronic, telephonic, and on-site fleet support on the operation and maintenance of military radar and navigational aids
  • Ability to develop training curriculum and materials for fleet training evolutions
  • Ability to train others on the use and maintenance of electronic systems
  • Experience with test plans, procedures, schematics, technical manuals, drawings, and wire lists
  • Experience reviewing, writing, and updating technical documentation
  • Ability to conduct Line Replaceable Unit (LRU) level repair of electronic systems
  • Familiarity with the Naval Aviation Maintenance Program (NAMP)
  • Knowledge on the proper use of common and specialty hand tools, general purpose electronic test equipment (GPETE) and special purpose electronic test equipment (SPETE)
  • Ability and willingness to travel to CONUS/OCONUS locations (20%)
  • Experience in maintenance, repair, restoration, test, and evaluation of Air Traffic Control systems


Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
  • Associate degree in electronics or engineering technology
  • Experience in maintenance, repair, restoration, test, and evaluation of AN/TPN-31 ATNAVICS or AN/TRN-47(V)2 AMTAC
  • Certification as a Collateral Duty Inspector (CDI) or Collateral Duty Quality Assurance Representative (CDQAR)
  • Experience using Microsoft Office software
  • Familiarity with the operation of Unix and/or Linux software
  • Flexibility to learn and utilize other systems supported by this competency


Pay Information
This position is covered by a wage law called the McNamara-O'Hara Service Contract Act (SCA). The wage range for this position is determined by the Wage and Hour Division of the Department of Labor on a contract-by-contract basis.
