About This Job
Air and Space Force Solutions, a business unit within BAE Systems, has an opening at our Hill Air Force Base, Utah location for the Sentinel IS Lead Program Manager. The selected candidate will join our Information Services team and have an important role in supporting our mission of Strategic Deterrence through continual improvement and innovation. The selected applicant will focus on meeting the needs of the government through direct and regular interaction as well as through collaboration with program management to ensure proper program execution, including cost, schedule, and performance. The position will have the following duties and responsibilities:

  • Meet often with primary contacts within the government to understand needs and direction of the program

  • Assist the government in the development of current and future IT system requirements. Evaluate plans and criteria for technical activities and recommend alternatives as required to comply with government and company obligations

  • Model and demonstrate strong leadership in ethics, safety and security

  • Clearly communicate job expectations by planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; coaching and counseling employees; initiating, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, and procedures

  • Maintain staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees; developing personal growth opportunities

  • Maintain safe and healthy working environment by establishing and enforcing organization standards; adhering to legal regulations

  • Ensure achievement of financial, schedule, technical, and new business performance objectives

  • Participate in the support of new business and in the development of plans for the company

  • Attend conferences and meetings to represent assigned activity and the needs of the government

  • Conduct research in areas that require a high level of expertise and knowledge in areas of specialization and some related fields. Maintain knowledge in area of specialization and awareness of developments in the remaining related fields, including extensive contributions to proposal efforts when requested by management

  • Apply systems engineering principles in the development of strategic plans meeting government requirements ensuring network availability to meet program objectives and system capability to efficiently meet stakeholder needs

  • Direct program activities and major projects. Be responsible for achievement of schedule, cost, and technical performance objectives. Prepare program portfolio execution plan and identify technical and business resources needed

  • Review status of projects within the program, manage schedules, and prepare status reports. Assess issues and develop resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and client satisfaction goals and objectives

  • Provide program management, technical and analytical guidance to program and project teams

  • Achieve high performance in leading a team of teams in a Cybersecurity and IT professional organization

  • Create a vision of excellence for the organization that encapsulates the company's values, the customer's priorities, and the qualities of ownership and accountability in a welcoming culture where employees and subcontractors know their work is valued and appreciated

Required Education, Experience, & Skills

Required experience/education:
18+ years of related IT or program management experience with no technical degree, or
14+ years of related IT or program management experience with a BA/BS degree, or
12+ years of related IT or program management experience with a MS degree

The successful applicant will display the following characteristics:

  • Proven experience leading an IT or Cybersecurity team.

  • Proven experience working in a DoD enterprise environment.

  • Able to work independently and demonstrate strong initiative, complex problem solving skills.

  • Strong communication skills (oral and written) as well as the ability to interact with team members, external vendors, various levels of management and internal clients with assorted levels of computer experience.

  • A fast learner with an ability to quickly understand different technologies.

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
  • Prior management experience leading large groups of IT professionals and demonstrated talent management/development.

  • Experience in Jira, Confluence, Microsoft Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, and Visio.

  • Previous success in developing standards, process improvement, and managing processes.

  • Ability to review, analyze, document, and explain technical systems and data.

  • Experience with matrix organizations.

  • DoD 8570 IAT Level III cert (Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) or similar).

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification or similar.

  • Lean Six Sigma Certification or similar.

  • Experience as a DoD System Program Manager.



Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $115110 - $195660

Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
