Because this role involves a combination of collaborative/in-person and independent work, it will take the form of a hybrid work format with time split between working onsite and remotely. Candidates must live within a reasonable driving distance to either Austin, TX or Nashua, NH.

BAE Systems is seeking a Subcontract Program Manager to support the Advanced Compact EW (Electronic Warfare) Solutions product line (ACES) within the CEMA Business Area. Known as an industry leader for its next generation threat detection and countermeasure solutions, the ACES product line is providing unparalleled electronic warfare capabilities to enhance mission survivability.

Countermeasure & Electromagnetic Attack (CEMA) delivers next-generation threat detection, countermeasure, and attack solutions providing customers will full-spectrum electronic warfare capabilities to enhance mission survivability. The individual selected for this position will be an experienced Subcontract Program Manager supporting the ACES program portfolio with responsibility for all major subcontract content under the direction of the product line's Subcontract Director. This opportunity is in support of a dynamic and growing business and includes significant product development content with major subcontractors that are integral to the success of the portfolio. The ideal candidate will have experience leading major development subcontracts throughout the product lifecycle: from establishing material strategies to employing best practice subcontract management practices - from a development phase through successful transition to production. Major subcontractors are key to program success and the selected candidate will be a vital member of the program leadership teams..

Required Education, Experience, & Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in related field of study and at least 10 years of related subcontract or procurement or program project management experience.
  • Ability to routinely travel a minimum of 25% of the time.
  • Experience in Subcontract Management, Program / Project Management, or Procurement
  • Knowledge of acquisition policies and procedures with associated knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and Defense Federal Acquisition Regulations (DFAR)
  • Strong demonstrated negotiation skills and strategies
  • Experience in new business capture to include proposals.
  • Experience developing long-term strategies and tactical plans to achieve enterprise objectives.
  • Successful, proven record of leading and managing multi-discipline project teams.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a focus on relationship building, leading through influence, and the ability to effectively communicate (verbally and in writing) at all levels.
  • Ability to develop plans specifying goals, staffing, scheduling, identification of risks, contingency plans, and allocation of available resources.
  • Experience with scope management and cost estimating, including estimate to complete/estimate at completion (ETC/EAC) processes.
  • Ability to communicate with senior management regarding subcontract performance status (cost/ schedule/ resources/ risk) as well as performance to financial objectives.
  • Experience communicating externally either with customers or suppliers.
  • Technical and business acumen
  • Control Account Management (CAM) experience (at minimum, CAM trained)
  • U.S. Citizenship is required.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook)
  • Developing internal/external/cross-cultural partner relationships.
  • Secret clearance (eligible)


Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering or Operations
  • Master's Degree in Engineering and/or Business Administration
  • Prior experience as a project manager, subcontract manager
  • Experience leading cross-functional Integrated Product Teams (IPTs)
  • Program Management Institute's (PMI) Program Management Professional (PMP) certification
  • Demonstrated Risk Management experience
  • Cost Analysis experience
  • Experience with information systems such as Oracle
  • Significant experience managing the development and compliance of requirements (SOWs, specifications, contractual terms, etc.)
  • Strong organizational skills to handle many overlapping projects simultaneously
  • Demonstrated negotiations experience in a Truth in Negotiations (TINA) environment
  • Demonstrated experience successfully engaging supplier executives
  • Six Sigma Green Belt


Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $140690 - $239140

Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
