You can be instrumental in this training by becoming an Associate Director of Clinical Education over Peri-Operative, Pharmacy and Behavioral Health Services. The leader oversees the development and delivery of an effective orientation program for new clinical team members in one of the largest Practice Transition Accredited programs internationally This position is 40-hours per week and is a hybrid position requiring regular rounding on facilities and occasional out-of-state travel. This position is responsible for the management and operations of the Banner Health Clinical Education team under the oversight of the director. This position requires a broad range of skills, in multiple complex areas of operations and workflow, in addition to clinical experience. It requires competence in operations, finance, administration, clinical care, clinical education, multi-tasking, independent decision-making, problem resolution, and the independent management of multiple projects.
CORE FUNCTIONS
1. Provides administrative and operational support to the Clinical Education director. Manages and coordinates all operational efforts of the Clinical Education department, while supporting and assisting all clinical, research, educational, and financial activities.
2. Assists in the development and implementation of goals and objectives for designated area(s) that align with the department and system strategic initiatives.
3. Develops and implements strategic workforce learning and development services to support achievement of workforce goals, quality initiatives, discipline-specific goals and clinical practice. Role models innovative clinical practice, patient safety, and evidence-based practice in the design and delivery of workforce learning and development outcomes. Demonstrates the use of research and best practices knowledge to evaluate the effectiveness of education/training programs.
4. Coordinates all course curriculums and educational materials for various departments, skill levels and training needs. May perform training when needed.
5. Coordinates education and training to ensure efficient operation of educational programs. Includes onboarding with new hire/new to service Banner Health staff to ensure efficient training needs for Banner Health employees. May assist in the development of planning and implementation for system needs outside of regularly coordinated efforts.
6. Operates the department in a cost-effective manner and participates in the preparation, organization, and management of the Clinical Education financial budget and procurements.
7. Oversees all aspects of the operation, maintenance, support, trouble-shooting, and repair of all of education associated equipment.
8. Directs personnel actions including recruiting, interviewing and selection of new staff, salary determinations, training, and performance evaluations. Assists Director in development of goals and objectives for designated area(s) that align with the department and system strategic initiatives.
9. The scope of this position is extensive in its complexity in that it includes clinical, operational, financial, educational, and administrative skills and support for the entire operation of Clinical Education. Interacts with all disciplines across the Banner Health system, medical and nursing education, various ancillary clinical departments and teams, as well as external organizations and vendors. Routinely works with administration, operations and finance, and clinical research. Requires interaction with and knowledge of healthcare providers across disciplines, as well as across medical and surgical specialties. When planning CNE events, follows all the requirements of ANA and ANCC.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Must possess strong clinical and business knowledge as normally obtained through the completion of a master's degree in nursing, healthcare, business, or related field.
Requires current licensure in a clinical field such as nursing, speech pathology, respiratory, medical imaging, or related clinical area.
Must possess a strong knowledge of clinical operations as normally demonstrated through 3-5 years of progressive management experience. Must possess an understanding of acute care and/or ambulatory care & business operations as normally demonstrated through experience in either environment and administrative, operational, and business settings with leadership experience. Requires experience in medical education and clinical research, as well as working knowledge of the current state of literature in healthcare. Requires extensive organization and time management skills and the ability to multi-task, work under pressure, and reliably meet deadlines. Requires strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills to effectively interact with a wide range of clinicians, administrators, and staff.
