Manager of Store Planning

The Manager of Store Planning role is a hybrid opportunity (2 days/ week remote) based at our corporate office in Bassett, VA andis responsible for ensuring that our Bassett Home Furnishings retail stores meet our merchandising, space planning and product placement standards.  This position reports to the director of store planning and manages the store planning team of 2-3 coordinators.   

Responsibilities

• Space planning of furniture areas within Bassett retail stores & Bassett furniture accounts, from concept to implementation; new, existing and remodel locations.
• Ensure the style direction is maintained and executed in every store through collaborating with the in- field visual team.
• Product ordering (furniture & accessories) to support space planning as noted above.

• Development of national visual merchandising documents & standards for store network.  This includes furniture placement, styling and painting guidelines to correlate with national company direction.
• Maintain and manage our master merchandise assortment for the retail stores.
• Analyze the stores merchandising in depth to better plan for future launches.
• Manage the store planning team in their day-to-day tasks such as floor planning, launch tracking, updating visual tools, maintaining timelines, reporting etc.
• Travel to stores as needed for floor set and related visual support
• Assist with High Point furniture markets, set up for independent open market accounts and assist in new/remodeled retail store openings.

Qualifications

• BS Degree in Interior Design or equivalent experience
• Strong leadership, communication, organizational and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work in a highly cross- functional environment.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD.
• Proficiency in graphic programs such as In Design, Sketch-Up or similar programs
• Demonstrable strong visual skills
• Ability and willingness to travel
