INDUSTRIAL ELECTRICAL TECHNICIAN

The Industrial Electrical Technician will employ a hands-on approach, working with other technicians to complete routine maintenance, corrective repairs and troubleshoot issues as they arise.  This position is based at our Upholstery Division in Newton, NC.

Responsibilities:

• Apply automation skills along with related knowledge in electronics and mechanics to install and troubleshoot circuitry as well as control systems on machinery.

• Troubleshoot, work on AC & DC Systems up to 480 volts, work with PLCs, analyze, modify, and/or maintain PLC Programs on the existing equipment as necessary.

•  Able to understand (and follow) NEC requirements for electrical distribution and routing/initial electrical installation of equipment.

• Perform electrical maintenance on a variety of machines including, but not limited to, lathes, mills, CNC routers, dust collection system and industrial lumber grinder.
• Use basis test equipment such as multi-meters, hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical drive systems, possess a fundamental understanding of electrical, hydraulics, and pneumatic schematics, as well as mechanical drawings in order to solve problems in a timely manner.
• Strive to reduce downtime by working efficiently and performing countermeasures aimed at root cause analysis and possess a commitment to safety and quality.
• Strong interpersonal, problem solving and effective communication skills are also required with a desire and ability to work and communicate as a team.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 2 years industrial maintenance hands-on experience, two years Post-Secondary Vocational experience or Technical education in Electrical Controls/PLC's.

Preferred:

• Ability to troubleshoot control panel signals based off schematics.
• Have the ability to read and interpret blue prints, schematic and ladder logic
• Possess an understanding of electrical matters in a manufacturing setting.
• Have knowledge and experience with electrical equipment: 480/230VAC 3ph, 110VAC & 24VDC controls, prints and schematics.
