Assist the school principal in overall administration of campus instructional program and campus level operations. Coordinate assigned student activities and services.

Instructional Management:
Participate in Professional Learning Community meetings with all core/special education/ESL teachers.
Participate Data Reflection Meetings with Departments and PLC's.
Approve newly enrolled student schedules.
Interpret students' out of state and out of country academic achievement records/academic transcripts to determine equivalent Texas courses.
Be accountable for student transcripts.
Be accountable for student End of Course (EOC) passing scores and cumulative scores for assigned departments.
Collaborate with other administrative staff on campus to improve instruction and student achievement.
Collaborate with and guide Instructional Specialist/Department Head staff to improve instruction and student achievement.
Participate in development and evaluation of educational programs.
Encourage and support development of innovative instructional programs, helping teachers pilot such efforts when appropriate.
Promote the use of technology in teaching/learning process.
Coordinate College Boards' Advanced Placement Program, including all assessments related to this program.
Assist and help coordinate all graduation-related ceremonies.
Oversee all academic, and college & career counseling.
Oversee the dual-credit program with Austin Community College.
Coordinate the development of the campus master schedule.
Assist with the development of the District's course selection guide.

Student Management:
Ensure that students are adequately supervised during non-instructional periods.

Help to develop a student discipline management system that results in positive student behavior.
Ensure that school rules are uniformly observed and that student discipline is appropriate and equitable.
Conduct conferences on student and school issues with parents, students, and teachers.
Participate in professional development to improve skills related to job assignment.

Management of Administrative, Fiscal and/or Facilities Functions:
Supervise operations in principal's absence.

Help plan daily school activities by participating in the development of class schedules, teacher assignments, and extracurricular activity schedules.
Assist with safety inspections and safety-drill practice activities.
Comply with federal and state laws, State Board of Education rule, and board policy.

Human Resources Management:

Assist principal with the recruitment, hire, induction, and placement of assigned staff, supervise, and evaluate performance.

Maintain appropriate documentation for employee contract recommendations.

Facilitate activities to recognize employees' efforts and accomplishments.

Assist principal to ensure effective/efficient staffing of campus.

Organization Improvement:
Participate in development of campus improvement plans with staff, parents, and community members.

Help principal develop, maintain, and use information systems to maintain and records to track progress on campus performance objectives and academic performance indicators.

Professional Growth and Development:
Develop professional skills appropriate to job assignment.

Demonstrate behavior that is professional, ethical, and responsible.

Texas Academic Performance Indicators and Campus Performance Objectives:
Facilitate the administration of state-mandated testing to ensure it complies with state and federal guidelines.

Monitor and review campus test data and use findings to assist assigned staff with planning corrective action for the affected group of students.

School/Community Relations:
Emphasize and nurture effective communication between school and community.

Respond in a timely manner to parent and community requests.

Interface with governmental agencies, business, and civic organizations, and the community to provide needed information and to promote the campus and District's initiatives.

Articulate the school's mission to community and solicit its support in realizing mission.
Demonstrate awareness of school-community needs and initiate activities to meet those needs.
Use appropriate and effective techniques to encourage community and parent involvement.

ENTRY QUALIFICATIONS: To be eligible for the initial screening, applicants must have a Master's degree from an accredited university in educational administration or a directly related field or be currently enrolled in a program leading to a Master's degree in educational administration or a directly related field. Applicants must have either a Texas Principal Certification, One-Year Texas Principal Certification, Texas Mid-Management Certification, or have passed the Texas Principal Exam and be eligible for certification. Applicants must have a minimum of three years of classroom teaching experience and demonstrated leadership roles at campus/district level.
