JOB PURPOSE OR MISSION: Completes all Preventive Maintenance and Safety checks as scheduled by the automated maintenance management system. Completes all reports, work orders, repairs and other departmental duties. The ability to train Bio-medical Technicians I.

PERFORMANCE CRITERIA

JOB FUNCTIONS

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS include, but are not limited to:

1. Completes all assigned PM for the current month as time permits, and completes any outstanding PM checklist from prior months.

PERFORMANCE STANDARDS:
• Performs all tests as described by work order or manufacture's guidance.
• Maintain PM program.
• Accurately and thoroughly completes all documentation by departmental policy and procedures.

2. Assists with troubleshooting and repair of equipment.

PERFORMANCE STANDARDS:
• Use test equipment and service manuals to troubleshoot and repair equipment.
• Safety check all repaired equipment.
• Completes all required documentation as per the departmental policy and procedures.

 

3. Repairs and calibrates more complex patient care equipment.

PERFORMANCE STANDARDS:
• Successfully and effectively uses test equipment and service manuals to inspect, troubleshot, and repair equipment.


4. Assists Biomedical and train Technician I with repair of equipment.

PERFORMANCE STANDARDS:
• Provides assistance and technical advice to Bio-medical Technician I to facilitate the timely repair of equipment.

5. Performs all other duties as assigned.

 


SPECIFIC EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
3 to 6 years experience maintaining medical equipment.


SPECIFIC EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
2 year associate degree in electronic technology, Bio-Medical technology or like programs.
Associate degree in electronic technology or certificate from accredited biomedical technology course or equivalent knowledge, military training or experience.


SPECIAL SKILL, LICENSE AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS
Knowledge of medical electronic principles, schematics and theories. Works under limited supervision.


HIPAA REQUIREMENTS:
Maintains knowledge of and adherence to all applicable HIPAA regulations appropriate to Job Position including but not limited to: Patient demographics, patient related complaints, and information related to patient location.

 

SAFETY REQUIREMENTS:
Maintains knowledge of and adherence to all applicable safety practices appropriate to Job Position including but not limited to: Incident reporting, handling of wastes, sharps and linen, PPE, exposure control plans, hand washing, environment of care, and monitoring clinical alarms.
