Description

The CEO reports to the organization chairman and board of directors. Devises strategies and formulates policies to ensure objectives set by the Board are met. Meets frequently with Board members and subordinate managers to ensure that operations are conducted in accordance with current policies. Retains overall accountability of the daily operations of the organization. Responsible for efficient operation of organization and implementation of Board policies.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Plans, organizes, directs, and evaluates the center's programming and day-to-day operations.
  • Develops and manages an annual budget approved by the Board of Directors, ensuring fiscal accountability and compliance with requirements of multiple grants and contracts.
  • CEO, in collaboration with the medical director and subordinate managers, will establish both short-term and long-term financial goals and performance; expectations to project a sustainable financial position for the corporation.
  • Oversees and manages financial and accounting operations.
  • Oversees annual audits.
  • Provides support to the Board of Directors and its sub-committees through regular reporting, organization of Board meetings, assistance in the recruitment of new members.
  • Identifies appropriate policy and regulatory issues requiring board decision-making and long-range strategic planning.
  • In collaboration with the medical director, oversees recruitment of appropriate medical providers to allow Benson Health to carry out its mission.
  • In collaboration with subordinate managers, oversees recruitment of appropriate staff to allow Benson Health to carry out its mission.
  • In collaboration with subordinate managers, oversees disciplinary actions, including termination of employment for staff members who fail to follow Benson Health policies and professional standards of behavior.
  • Supervises and supports all professional and support staff that ensures highest quality programs and services of the organization.
  • Manages personnel policies and procedures.
  • Establishes and maintains strong collaborative partnerships and promotes the mission of Benson Health with healthcare professionals, hospitals, and other health and relevant agencies and educational institutions.
  • Identify, research, and write grants and other funding proposals to foundations and government entities and ensure compliance.
  • Supports the Board in annual fundraising from private donors.
  • Oversees visibility activities such as media placement, newsletters, social media, websites, etc.
  • Oversee the development and enforcement of health information management policies and procedures including but not limited to release of information, confidentiality, information security, coding policies, documentation storage and retrieval, documentation deficiencies/chart completion, and data quality.
  • Establishing and administering contractual arrangements for fiduciary services, laboratory services, janitorial services, electronic health record systems, claims processing, health information data security, and other services as necessary.

Master's degree in public administration, healthcare administration, public health, business, or related field preferred. A minimum of 2 years of management and/or administrative experience preferred. FQHC/FQHC Look-Alike leadership preferred.

Must possess self-confidence, motivation, decisiveness, flexibility, sound business judgement, determination, and a high level of business and moral ethics.

Physical requirements: Good visual acuity and ability to communicate. Ability to lift a minimum of 20 pounds and ability to push/pull a minimum of 30 pounds, which includes the lifting, pushing, and/or pulling of medical supplies and equipment and the transferring and repositioning of patients. Reasonable assistance may be requested when lifting, pushing, and/or pulling are undertaken which exceed these minimum requirements.
