Description
Indirect clinical responsibilities include regular, ongoing clinical consultation and didactic teaching to child/adolescent staff, students, and programs. Provides clinical case conference consultations to mobile crisis intervention teams.
Participates in multidisciplinary team and/or critical risk team meetings. Provides clinical oversight of child/adolescent state funded grants and therapeutic day school. Provides psychiatric consultation, including case review, to the Community Service Agencies and other youth programs as needed.
Provides direct psychiatric evaluations, ongoing psychiatric assessments and treatments, and counseling to assigned patients. Analyzes patient data and test or examination findings in the diagnosis of mental disorders of assigned patients.
Gathers and maintains patient information and records, including social, medical, and substance use history obtained from patients, relatives and significant others, and other sources. Also collaborates with physicians, psychotherapists, psychiatric nurse practitioners, psychologists, social workers, or other professionals to obtain client history and to discuss treatment plans and progress.
Develops individualized care plans involving evidence-based psychotherapeutic and/or medication treatments to assigned clients, when indicated. Monitors patient responses to these treatments (including adverse effects for medications) and makes necessary adjustments or recommendations. Focuses on and screens for patient safety and harm-reduction with each patient meeting and with all forms of treatment.
Adheres to HIPAA and other pertinent regulations and laws mandated by federal agencies (including Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Agency (SAMHSA), Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF), and state agencies, including but not limited to the Massachusetts General Laws, Code of Massachusetts Regulations (CMR), Massachusetts Board of Registration in Medicine, Massachusetts Department of Mental Health and Department of Public Health (including the Bureau of Substance and Addictions Services (BSAS.) Position has a hybrid schedule of in-person and telecommute duties.

Qualified candidates must have experience in outpatient psychiatric settings working with mental illness in complex community settings and skilled with service delivery in a team-based approach with focus on providing quality care. Teaching experience preferred
