PURPOSE OF THIS POSITION
Under the supervision of the Physician, this position provides patient-centered care and administrative support by combining clinical and clerical responsibilities. This role ensures smooth patient flow, assists providers with office and lab procedures, point of care testing, phlebotomy, and manages scheduling, documentation, and communication to enhance the patient experience.

JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
Duty 1: Assist physicians with patient care, including injections, phlebotomy, point-of-care testing, and sterile procedures
Duty 2: Prepare exam rooms and clinical areas for patient visits.
Duty 3: Manage daily patient and provider flow.
Duty 4: Chart documentation and support clinical processes.
Duty 5: Schedule and manage patient appointments using EMR.
Duty 6: Complete patient registration accurately.
Duty 7: Handle referrals, prior authorizations, and benefit validation.
Duty 8: Collect payments and manage front-office tasks.
Duty 9: Maintain cleanliness and stock supplies in patient areas.
Duty 10: Enhance patient experience and uphold BVHS mission, vision, and values.
Duty 11: Participate in process improvement initiatives.
- Duty 12: Perform other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
High School graduate or GED equivalent.
A valid driver's license is required (if you do not have a valid Ohio driver's license you must obtain one within 30 days of your residency in the state). You must also meet BVHS's company fleet policy and insurance company requirements, and any other requirements that may be required to operate a vehicle.
Ability to cross-train and work flexibly across multiple clinic locations.
Use of technology, EMR systems, and office equipment.
Compliance with BVHS privacy policies and workplace civility standards.
Positive service-oriented interpersonal and communication skills required.
Individual must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patient served on his/her assigned unit/department. The individual must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient status. Must be able to interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to their age-specific needs and to provide the care needed as described in the area's policies and procedures.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Medical Assistant Certification/Registered/Diploma.
Previous Medical experience.
Experience in giving injections/blood draws preferred.
Medical terminology experience preferred.
Electronic Medical Records (EMR) experience.
Experience communicating with patients over the phone and in-person.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
This position requires a full range of body motion with intermittent walking, lifting, bending, climbing, squatting, kneeling, twisting, sitting, and standing. The associate will be required to walk for up to one hour a day, stand for five hours a day and sit for two hours. The individual must be able to lift twenty pounds and reach work above the shoulders. The individual must have good eye-hand coordination and fine finger dexterity to operate machines. The individual must have excellent verbal communication skills to communicate with patients, providers, and co-workers. The associate must have vision corrected and hearing in the normal range.
