Job Summary:Works with the Receiving Station Supervisor (when present) and the Receiving Coordinator (or the Field Supervisor assigned) to insure the efficient operation & workflow of the receiving station on their shift. He/She performs all necessary work to see that all deliveries are received, weighed, tested, bar-coded (if needed), stored, and shipped in an efficient manner while following all BDG policies & procedures. Also, is to maintain that all equipment is in good, safe operating order while supervising all employees on his/her shift, seeing that these purposes are met.
Ensures continuous workflow during their assigned shift while using a variety of machinery (forklifts, scales, trucks, etc.), receiving product into the receiving station from various outside locations. Performs and oversees a variety of operations including, but not limited to, sampling, weighing, scanning and bar-coding incoming product as to variety/quality ensuring no mixing of varieties/quality. Assigns warehouse classification number, issues proper documentation for all growers' deliveries, and sees that they are sampled and stored correctly. As directed, coordinates the flow of product to correct plant locations, logging all details. Maintains a log of deliveries received by variety count for their shift. Accounts for missing or incomplete documentation. For their shift, arranges for trucks to carry loads that are to be transferred to Sacramento, Salida, or other destinations as instructed. Operates yard truck to load trailers for shipments from overhead bins if needed. Ensures that all Receiving paperwork has been done at the end of the shift. Ensures that all forklifts are safety checked prior to their shift, maintaining a log to show such. Ensures that all established Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP's), policies and procedures, and safety procedures are followed while all employees are performing job duties.
Performs all the duties of a Receiving Station Attendant while supervising employees in these positions on their shift.
Ensures all employees are working efficiently and keeps the Receiving Coordinator, (or the assigned Field Supervisor) abreast of any problems needing attention concerning the workers or his/her shift. The Receiving Coordinator (or the Field Supervisor assigned to the specific Receiving Station) will deal with any and all employee work performance problems.
