The Data Innovation team is seeking a Senior Innovator—a highly skilled backend developer with a passion for creativity and innovation. In this role, you will play a key part in our high-performing development team, driving the design and implementation of our next-generation Data Observability platform. This position offers the opportunity to blend strong technical expertise with innovative problem-solving, helping shape the future of data reliability and insights within our organization.
Primary Roles and Responsibilities:
- Design and implementation of new features for our Data Observability platform, ensuring scalability, performance, and maintainability.
- Perform ongoing maintenance, bug fixes, and optimizations to ensure reliability.
- Investigate and evaluate existing market solutions and third-party tools to identify opportunities for integration and enhancement of platform capabilities.
- Work with a globally distributed team, collaborate with product owners and architects to understand requirements, present options, and design solutions.
- Working on an Agile team, contribute to Agile ceremonies, including participating in sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives.
- Analyze project progress and technical issues, providing clear, concise, and timely updates—both written and verbal—on status, risks, and solution options to teammates and stakeholders.
- Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
- 6+ years of hands-on experience as a Python backend software developer.
- Strong knowledge of software engineering principles, OOP, design patterns, and industry best practices.
- Proficiency in Python as the primary language with proven ability to write clean, maintainable, and scalable code. Additional background in Java is a significant plus.
- Experience working with data-centric applications, such as Data Engineering, Data Quality and Data Pipelines monitoring.
- Experience with modern storage solutions, including both relational (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL), NoSQL databases (e.g. Elasticsearch, MongoDB, DynamoDB) and cloud platforms (e.g. Snowflake, Big Query)
- Experience with distributed messaging or event streaming platforms (e.g., Kafka, MQTT, or similar).
- Background in microservices architecture and cloud-native application design.
- Experience with container technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes, Helm Charts, etc.
- Experience with public cloud services such as AWS, GCP, or Azure
- Comfortable working in both Unix/Linux and Windows environments.
- Familiarity with AI/ML-enabled systems, including design of APIs or microservices that integrate machine-learning or LLM components is a plus.
- Thrives in dynamic, fast-paced environments and readily adapts to change.
- Communicates effectively in English (both verbally and writing) across all levels of the organization.
- Champions continuous innovation and actively seek new ways to improve.
