The Senior Manager – Helix Americas & Corporate Accounting will be primarily responsible for managing, analyzing, and evaluating complex accounting activities in order to support the centralized Corporate Accounting functions and the Americas regional accounting. This role will directly supervise multiple accountants as well as “dotted line” oversight of the services performed on behalf of their team by the global shared services team in Pune, India, and will interact with various groups within the organization, including international teams, to achieve financial goals and continued development of accounting systems and policies. Additionally, this role will be responsible for accurate and timely processing, calculating, and reporting on various items, including, but not limited to, the following:
1) Management of the global monthly and accounting close process, including preparation of the corporate close calendar, managing the close progress against deadlines, and coordinating with global accounting teams 2) Accounting and internal control activities for share-based compensation plans, bonus plans, and other global compensation programs, as well as foreign currency matters, intercompany transactions, business combinations, debt modifications, and other centralized accounting processes 3) Technical research, evaluation, and documentation for significant, complex transactions for areas of influence 4) Interface with internal and external auditors, ensuring compliance with SOX controls and corporate policies/processes, and evaluating processes and controls for continuous improvements and influencing change where needed 5) Serve as the liaison with domestic and international locations, including ad hoc questions and issues, to ensure global consistency on various accounting matters, including management of the global chart of accounts 6) Provide input for and oversight of US GAAP disclosure requirements related to areas of influence, in coordination with the Financial Reporting team, to ensure accurate disclosures in external financial statements
This position will report to the Assistant Controller and will lead a team of senior-level accounting personnel, including “dotted line” oversight of the services performed on behalf of their team by the global shared services team in Pune, India, as well as significant interaction with other global accounting teams, as well as cross-functional departments within the Company, including Tax, Treasury, FP&A, Legal, Human Resources, and others.
Job requirements: • Experience in corporate/regional accounting and financial controls in a public company environment or public accounting firm. • Strong knowledge of financial principles and US GAAP. • Technical research skills, commensurate with a complex global company environment. • Proficiency with select software applications; experience with Oracle and OneStream a plus. • Experience with team leadership, including mentoring, performance management, and professional development. • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, as the position requires regular partnering with Company executives and others across multiple corporate functions, as well as third-party service providers. • Strong analytical and problem solving skills. • Ability to quickly learn new systems technology, multi-task and prioritize in a dynamic environment. • Strong organizational skills required to manage multiple, concurrent tasks. • Ability to perform complex calculations, understand accounting impact and implications of transactions, and review complex reconciliations of large volumes of data. • Ability to work within a fast-paced environment, under pressure and within strict deadlines. • Must be able to maintain strict confidentiality.
Education/Training Required: • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting • CPA • 8+ years of work experience with demonstrated progression - Big 4 public accounting firm and/or Corporate Accounting experience a plus • Current or prior public accounting experience within a big 4 public accounting firm a plus

At BMC, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at /near the top of the range. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $129,375 - $215,625
