Accounts Receivable Assistant Manager

The Accounts Receivable Assistant Manager is responsible for ensuring the accuracy of Accounts Receivable processes and adhering to internal control policies and procedures.  Primary responsibilities of the Accounts Receivable Assistant Manager include directly managing a team of AR Analysts who are responsible for multiple aspects of the company's accounting functions in relationship to customer sales and accounts.  The Accounts Receivable Assistant Manager will assist the Accounts Receivable Manager directly with monthly closing and daily functionality.  This individual must be strong in Excel, be an excellent communicator, exercise strong leadership skills, have a positive attitude, and have the ability to meet strict deadlines.

 Job Responsibilities

  • Understand and handle all aspects of payment and dispute processes in compliance with Visa, MasterCard, Discover, and American Express rules and regulations
  • Manage/supervise day-to-day reconciliation and resolve issues related to secondary private label customer financing programs
  • Manage/supervise the web order fraud review process
  • Perform daily and month end payment account reconciliation
  • Ensure accurate reporting of all department KPI's
  • Provide assistance to direct reports and ensure all functions are completed timely, consistently review and assess employee performance 
  • Assist with user acceptance testing for changes or enhancements for our point-of-sale system
  • Analyze complex customer issues and provide monetary decision direction
  • Handle escalated situations and exercise judgment in financial matters that maintain proper balance between company profits and customer experience
  • Work closely and regularly communicate with credit card processing partners, customer care team, and store management 
  • Ensure department processes and procedures are well documented and maintained
  • Be able to make informed decisions and take decisive action to minimize loss through disputes and concessions
  • Must be able to work with little supervision and meet numerous specific deadlines

Required Qualifications

  • 2-3 years professional/accounting experience in retail environment
  • Strong analytical skills and excellent writing skills
  • Ability to make effective decisions based on risk assessment
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Strong Leadership skills
  • Ability to meet deadlines in a fast paced environment
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree from a 4-year College or University
  • SAP experience
