A fast growing furniture retailer located in Manchester, CT is seeking a Senior Financial Reporting Analyst who will play a vital role in ensuring that the Company's internal and external financial reporting is completed in a timely and accurate manner.   The candidate will be responsible for the preparation of our internal and external financial statements including footnote disclosures, the preparation of various internal supplemental reports, as well as the development and reporting of key performance indicators (KPIs). 

Job Responsibilities

  • Work closely with finance and operational business partners to ensure that the Company's internal and external financial reporting is completed in a timely and accurate manner
  • Prepare the Company's periodic financial statements including footnote disclosures in accordance with US GAAP
  • Prepare periodic operational reporting to senior leadership to highlight the Company's operating performance and financial position
  • Prepare periodic reporting to lenders and other third-party constituents
  • Assist in the coordination of annual audit and interim work of external auditors
  • Create, implement, and maintain streamlined financial reporting
  • Maintain financial reporting procedures that are consistent with a strong internal control environment, including SOX compliance as it relates to financial reporting
  • Continuous assessment of the financial reporting processes to identify enhancements opportunities and lead re-engineering efforts to improve efficiencies
  • Participate in ad-hoc projects as required

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field
  • Minimum 3 -6 years of progressive experience in accounting and/or financial reporting
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs with advanced Excel skills.  SAP and PowerBI experience is a plus
  • Analytical, report writing/development, and problem-solving experience is essential
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team while maintaining a high degree of professionalism
  • Proven ability to effectively manage time and prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Experienced communicator with excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • A detail-oriented and organized individual is best-suited for this role along with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage well through ambiguity and complexity

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certified Public Accountant / CPA
  • Manufacturing / retail environment experience
  • Experience with SAP and other financial reporting IT systems
