Mercy Health Physicians-Youngstown is looking for a Medical Director for its Boardman campus to provide leadership to the hospitalist service. The Medical Director will a work as a full time Hospitalist with 20% of the role dedicated to the leadership duties and responsibilities.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Licensed physician in Ohio to practice
• Board certified in Internal Medicine/Hospital Medicine/Family Medicine
• Demonstrated leadership ability
• Strong communication skills with ability to interact positively with medical team, patients, and hospital
• Certifications as required by Hospital Bylaws (e.g. ACLS, PALS, )

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITES include:

• Promote the development and implementation of “patient focused”
• In collaboration with hospital administration and the MHY Hospitalist Medical Director, develops policies and procedures for the care of
• Participates in patient, medical staff, and administrative complaint resolution
• Ensures all departmental policies are followed by staff
• Participates in divisional and corporate office
• Meets with hospital administration and the MHY Hospitalist Medical Director to discuss program progress, problems and proposed solutions, and future departmental goals.
• Meets with emergency department leadership to discuss integration and patient care
• Serves as primary liaison between hospitalists and care team.
• Participates in long-range planning for facility design, equipment acquisition, and new services.
• Works with administration on the implementation of the region wide hospitalist program.
• Works with hospital administration to determine staffing
• Actively engaged in recruitment efforts.
• Participation in new physician hiring process.
• Works with scheduler to complete schedule and filling deficiencies.
