About the Opportunity:

Brown University's School of Professional Studies (SPS) brings a Brown education to new audiences of learners: those focused on development of skills and a breadth of knowledge necessary for professional success and leadership. We leverage Brown's intellectual centers of excellence, rigorous teaching, and developmental approach to learning in a range of programs, including serving students outside of traditional degree programs. We partner with Brown departments, centers, institutes, and schools to develop degree and non-degree programs, and to support the recruitment, retention, and placement success of master's students, including traditional, non-traditional, and professional students.

Responsibilities:

The School of Professional Studies at Brown University is seeking an Assistant Director of Marketing to join its dynamic marketing communications team. This role collaborates with team leadership on the development of the marketing strategy and oversees its execution. This strategy supports the growing portfolio of master's and non-degree programs at the School of Professional Studies at Brown University. 

Under the supervision of the Director of Marketing and Communications, this position serves as the primary contact for marketing initiatives, working with colleagues across the department on project intake, managing and reviewing work, monitoring budgets, and ensuring timely deliverables. In close collaboration with the Paid Media Specialist, this position is responsible for overseeing the paid media campaigns in their respective platforms across a variety of channels (social, search, display, radio, email, print, OOH), allocating program budgets and making optimizations. This position also maintains and grows relationships with media partners, and seeks out new opportunities to ensure best practices are implemented and optimal performance is achieved.

The Assistant Director of Marketing position also has a strong focus on the tracking, reporting and analysis across the sales funnel, including the integration of leads into the CRM, conversion tracking of applications and enrollments, and other key performance indicators. This position supervises one or more direct reports.

Qualifications:

Experience & Education

  • Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Advertising, Business or related field and 5-7 years related experience

  • Demonstrated knowledge of marketing channels and ability to learn and implement new ones

  • Proficiency in managing paid advertising campaigns across multiple channels including search, social, print, radio and other platforms

  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment

  • Demonstrated experience of collaboration working and communicating with direct team and across departments with varied stakeholders

  • Strong technical skills and familiarity with Google analytics (GA4); tracking, analyzing and reporting out on performance of marketing campaigns

  • Experience with CRM tools, project management and workflow software, and ability to learn new 

  • systems

  • Experience in higher education marketing or nonprofit marketing preferred.

  • Experience with data visualization software such as Tableau or Power BI preferred.
