This position is responsible for serving as a core team member of the Brown Pandemic Center. Primary responsibilities include helping organize and conduct ongoing center research projects including but not limited to qualitative analyses of outbreak/epidemic/pandemic responses, pandemic threats horizon scans, medical countermeasures development, distribution, allocation and access, deliberate biothreats, economic/social/political aspects of pandemic vulnerability and response. This position will also contribute to efforts to disseminate and translate research findings from the Center and its collaborators. This position will also be responsible for disseminating advances and findings via manuscripts and conference presentations. The position will require successful collaboration with center staff, collaborators (within and outside of Brown University), and external experts and stakeholders. Strong, qualitative research skills (including thematic analysis using NVivo), experience navigating and interpreting the biomedical and social science literature (pubmed and social science databases), and a solid public health background (or other closely related field) are a must. Advanced training in global health policy, infectious disease epidemiology, biotechnology, biostatistics, or statistics is highly desirable. Prior experience with working on organizations involved in global health security, public health preparedness and/or infectious disease emergencies is also highly desirable.

♦ MPH/MS or equivalent, with training or expertise in qualitative research
♦ A minimum of 2-5 years prior experience in a research-based environment and/or serving as
♦ Strong quantitative skills; advanced statistical programing skills; knowledge of R or Stata is a plus.
♦ Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
♦ Excellent interpersonal skills
♦ Documented excellent writing, presentation and communication skills
♦ Documented experience in proposal writing in an academic environment
♦ Ability to multitask and prioritize competing demands
This is a fixed term position with a current end date of 8/1/2023, which may be extended based upon available funding.
