Summary

Prepare beverages and provide beverage service in a friendly courteous and timely manner, resulting in guest satisfaction. Prepare beverages for service by cocktail servers. Act as a cashier for the beverage outlet.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Promote Cache Creek Casino Resort in a positive manner
  • Greet guests in a friendly and courteous manner.
  • Promote and document orders for drinks, reciting selection of all call and premium brands as requested (required memorization of all available drinks).
  • Mix, garnish, and present drinks using standard ingredient recipes and practicing prudent portion control.
  • Input orders at the point of sale and create a check for each guest/party, including those served by cocktail servers, to maintain accountability of all beverages served.
  • Replenish beverages as requested, frequently checking back with guests to inquire about satisfaction.
  • Present the guests with their check promptly, thanking them and inviting them to return.
  • Receive payment from guests and make change as needed.
  • Verify validity and record charges and ensure vouchers are properly executed to insure all monies balance.
  • Maintain proper and adequate setup of the bar on a daily basis.
  • Maintain cleanliness of guest areas at all times, including removing empty bottles/glasses and cleaning ashtrays.
  • Keep the bar area at a high level of sanitation and hygiene at all times.
  • Respond to guest inquiries.
  • Provide guest satisfaction through assistance, direction, and information within casino resort guidelines.
  • Balance house bank at the beginning and at the end of each shift.
  • Retrieve and return back from the employee bank to workstation to insure accountability.
  • Check stations before, during and after each shift to ensure proper setup and cleanliness are maintained.

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily with or without reasonable accommodations.  The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

 

Education and/or Experience

Bartending school certificate or 3 months bartending experience. Customer service skills required.

 

Age Requirement

Must be at least 21 years of age.

 

Language Skills

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.  Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.  Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

 

Mathematical Skills

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.  Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

 

Reasoning Ability

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.  Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Other Skills and Abilities

Knowledge of all state, federal and corporate regulations pertaining to alcoholic beverages to minors and intoxicated guests.

 

Ability to remain alert throughout the duration of the shift and remain calm during heavy volume periods.
