Annual Salary Range:
- $44,508 – $58,536
Work Locations: Wide Variety of Geographic Settings including the Northern California Coast,
San Francisco Bay Area, California Capitol, and Southern California

Correctional Health Care Services is seeking dedicated and compassionate Medical Assistants
to join our Mental Health team.
In the dynamic realm of mental health care, the Medical Assistant (MA) plays a crucial role as a
vital support system.
Embracing a patient-centric approach, the MA, with clinical direction from our team of mental
health care providers, conducts patient-oriented procedures. Beyond clinical responsibilities,
this role actively contributes to the seamless functioning of the mental health care team.
Effective communication with patients, and fellow health care team members is paramount.
Administratively, the MA ensures the smooth flow of operations by performing various duties.
From addressing ongoing patient needs to collaborating with our mental health care providers,
the MA plays a pivotal role in promoting efficient, appropriate, and cost-effective use of health
care resources.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare patients and provide administrative support for mental health clinic visits
- Assist the mental health care team with daily operations
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation
- Collaborate with health care professionals to ensure the highest quality of care
Minimum Qualifications:
- A valid certificate from a Department of Consumer Affairs Medical Board-approved agency to work as a Medical Assistant:
- American Association of Medical Assistants
- American Medical Certification Association
- American Medical Technologists
- California Certifying Board of Medical Assistants
- Multi-skilled Medical Certification Institute, Inc.
