Job Duties for Pulmonary & Critical Care Physician

Capital Health Medical Group (CHMG) in New Jersey is expanding our pulmonology group. We are currently looking for a highly motivated Pulmonary and Critical Care Physician to join our team consisting of eight physicians specializing in pulmonology, critical care, and interventional pulmonology, and ancillary staff. CHMG currently offers pulmonology services across our hospitals located in Pennington, NJ and Trenton, NJ, along with outpatient offices located in Pennington, NJ, Hamilton, NJ, and Newtown, PA. As part of the Capital Health System, providers have access to a broad range of in-house testing, ICU support, and access to a robust pulmonary lung nodule clinic and interventional pulmonology program, now equipped with the Ion robotic bronchoscopy system.

The is a full time role with call responsibility across the inpatient and outpatient settings, focusing on complex pulmonary disorders. Coverage consists of one in four weeks of ICU, covering seven consecutive days with presence no less than twelve hours per day for the assigned week, to include night coverage. The physician will conduct daily multidisciplinary rounds, perform endobronchial procedures, and other care as necessary as the pulmonary & critical care intensivist. Following the ICU week is one off week, followed by one week of pulmonary consult coverage, and one week of outpatient office coverage. The physician will cover the Hopewell Medical Center and Regional Medical Center during consult weeks and be assigned to a mix of outpatient offices. This role provides the opportunity for the physician to attend monthly ICU meetings and take part in the Resuscitation and Critical Care Committees.

An active NJ state medical license, DEA and CDS are required to be secured by the date of employment. CHMG requires that all providers hold dual licensing in New Jersey and Pennsylvania, along with active board certification or board eligibility in pulmonary disease and critical care medicine. Future employees must present proof of application submission for their PA state license by the date of their employment. Once the PA license is secured, the physician will submit for their PA DEA.

Pulmonary consults – average of 10 per day
Outpatient office – average of 12-15 patients per day
Call Schedule:
1:4 ICU
