Opportunity:

Capital Health is seeking a full-time, board-certified/board eligible Thoracic Surgeon to join our vibrant and rapidly expanding team. This position plays a vital role as a physician member within the Capital Heath Surgical Group, and Capital Health Cancer Center, offering a multidisciplinary care team which brings world-class clinical expertise, leading technologies, and patient-centric approaches to care delivery with an emphasis on the needs and goals of patients served. Our hospital is equipped with three da Vinci surgical systems and the Ion Robotic Bronchoscopy platform. Our centers have achieved and maintain numerous national accreditations and recognition with ongoing commitment to bringing the most advanced, world-class care possible throughout the region. Education, Training & Experience:

  • Board-certified or board-eligible in thoracic surgery
  • Eligible for medical licensure in the state of New Jersey
  • Current fellowship candidate or practicing physician

Job Duties
  1. Provide thoracic surgery consultation at Capital Health's facilities, and in an office or offices established to consult with patients.
  2. Perform the full scope of thoracic surgical services, including but not limited to minimally invasive/robotic surgery at Capital Health's facilities.
  3. Provide consultation to patients in the hospital and outpatient office at Capital Health locations as directed by the Vice President of The Capital Health Medical Group or his/her designee.
  4. Promote compliance with all applicable legal, regulatory, licensing and accreditation standards.
  5. Provide educational and training programs for Capital Health medical staff, employees, residents, and the community at large.
  6. Provide other additional services, including but not limited to participating in such committees and activities of the Capital Health Medical Staff, as may reasonably be assigned by the Vice President or as required to maintain membership in the Capital Health Medical Staff.
  7. Maintain the multidisciplinary service to optimize the care of thoracic surgery patients at both campuses.
