GENERAL DESCRIPTION
Under the close supervision of an employee of a higher classification, performs sub-professional to professional library work in nature, increasing in difficulty and responsibility as professional training is completed. Work involves performance of various complex clerical and sub-professional tasks in connection with daily operations of the library system. Employees of this class perform library work of a limited nature, requiring professional training, but limitations decrease as training increases. Incidental supervision may be exercised over sub-professional and clerical employees. Performs other work as requested. Note: Employees within this classification are hired on a part-time basis and paid at an hourly rate.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS


EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree and enrollment in courses leading to a graduate degree from an accredited school of library science.

(Unless otherwise specified below, must possess at the time of appointment and must be maintained current throughout employment in this classification.) None.

OTHER JOB ASPECTS
Enrollment during the summer session shall be optional. Three years will be the maximum time limit to obtain the library science degree.
