Description
The Edmonton Police Service (EPS) requires an experienced Forensic Video Analyst to assist the Facial Recognition and Forensic Video Unit (FRFV). Responsibilities of this position will include:
- Establishing and maintaining electronic evidence services as they relate specifically to video analysis, post-production video editing and related disclosure requirements.
- Establishing and maintaining standards, procedures and documentation to ensure the integrity and continuity of exhibits.
- Researching, planning, producing and presenting technical recommendations by formal report.
- Maintenance of laboratory systems, software and network infrastructure.
- Putting in place strategies to resolve recurring trouble and/or issues with technology.
- Crafting expansion and retirement strategies of technologies utilized by Forensic Video Analsys and Forensic Video Field Technicians.
- Working with other operational areas in maintaining an ever evolving support services model, including the mentorship of Forensic Video Field Technicians operating in the field.
- Preparation of reports for investigative and judicial review.
- Assisting investigators in securing computer evidence subsequent to judicial orders as required.
- Performing administrative functions and other duties supporting forensic service systems and applications.
