Description

Serving as an Architectural Technologist and supporting the Projects and Strategic Planning Section Manager, this position is responsible for coordinating, administrating and managing all project phases for new construction, renovations, and tenant improvements. The work undertaken by this position is complex requiring abilities to work independently and as a team in a professional fast paced environment. A high level of organizational and supervisory aptitude is essential for understanding the complex structure and personal interaction within a large policing organization. The key responsibilities of this position include:

  • Stakeholder identification and management.
  • Define project objectives, requirements, and scope in consultation with stakeholders to determine operational/business needs
  • Develop and evaluate consultant proposals including award and contract management.
  • Provide program, budget, schedules, and format for consultants in the preparation of technical drawings and specifications.
  • Collect and analyses existing data for further design review.
  • Review and comment on all design and construction documents
  • Attend/chair pre-construction, progress and site meetings
  • Technical experience and expertise to interpret contractors/consultants' specifications/drawings
  • Lead review and request clarification from design team on design issues including tracking all stakeholder, consultant and contractor issues and responses.
  • Review contract documents, agreements and shop drawings for approval
  • Support as required to peers and Management.
  • Mentor, train and support junior and new team members
  • Maintain and expand technical knowledge and expertise through technical seminars and specialized education in areas appropriate to position responsibilities.
  • Conduct pre-construction site specific hazard assessments.
  • Inform contractors/consultants of EPS site-specific hazards.
  • Setup, maintain and carry out active, effective, and collaborative communications with COE and EPS OH&S consultants.
  • Performing other related duties as required.
