This posting is for one (1) Permanent, Full-Time position that may continue until March 31, 2027

The Edmonton Police Service's Crime and Trauma-Informed Support Services (CTSS) Unit is hiring a dedicated and equity-driven professional to serve as the Diverse Communities Coordinator. This role focuses on ensuring that victim supports are culturally relevant, accessible, and responsive to the unique needs of racialized, newcomer, faith-based, Indigenous, 2SLGBTQIA , and other equity-deserving communities affected by crime and trauma. Responsibilities of this position include: 

  • Provide culturally competent, trauma-informed support to victims of crime and trauma.
  • Conduct client centered needs assessments, case conferences and ongoing support from referral through to file resolution in court..
  • Collaborate with Volunteer Advocates and EPS members to enhance inclusive service delivery.
  • Identify systemic barriers to services and co-develop solutions with community stakeholders.
  • Work collaboratively with other EPS Units along with other CTSS Coordinators to ensure the community receives a high level of service.
  • Build and strengthen relationships to foster trust and enhance community awareness of victim supports and resources available at the municipal, provincial and federal levels.
  • Contribute to inclusive policy development, community outreach strategies, and internal equity efforts.
  • Prepare statistical reports, drafts/update policy, report on program outputs and other related duties as required.
  • Develop and maintain strong stakeholder partnerships and identify appropriate community resources relevant to the client's served.
  • Serve as a liaison between CTSS, The Community Relations unit, equity-focused community groups, and other Law Enforcement Agencies.
