Join the Lifecycle Management Section within Integrated Infrastructure Services as our Open Space Infrastructure Inventory Coordinator. In this key permanent full-time role, you will lead the Open Space Infrastructure Assessment team, dedicated to the supervision, management, and in-depth analysis of field data for our parks' engineered assets, including trails, roads, parking lots, stairs, and retaining structures. Your work directly contributes to the City's long-term asset planning and ensures the safety and longevity of our valuable open spaces. You will play a critical role in developing and implementing advanced assessment methodologies, ensuring data quality within our sophisticated geospatial systems, and shaping major capital program strategies. We are looking for an experienced leader with a passion for asset management, precise data integrity, and fostering a collaborative, high-performing technical team.
What will you do?
- Lead the Open Space Infrastructure Assessment team, including the hiring, onboarding, training, and performance management of seasonal GIS field assessment technicians, and manage their daily office and field work schedules
- Manage the comprehensive inventory of engineered open space assets, ensuring the highest quality and integrity of data within our corporate Geographic Information System (AEGIS) through rigorous quality control checks and software such as FME (Feature Manipulation Engine)
- Develop and implement innovative assessment methodologies and technical procedures, including evaluating new technologies like drones and AI for image processing, to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of data collection and asset condition reporting
- Conduct in-depth asset planning, performance analysis, and risk management, including economic benefit and life cycle cost analysis, to support the development of repair/replacement strategies and the annual 4-year capital program
- Complete technical reports related to asset assessment and renewal, utilizing code analysis (National, Provincial, Utility, and City of Edmonton Codes/Standards) to ensure compliance
- Collaborate with internal City teams, consultants, civil/building construction personnel, and other interested parties on data collection, maintenance, and asset condition inquiries
