Imagine being the driving force behind projects that keep Edmonton moving, clean, and safe. We're looking for an independent, strategic, and proactive Project Management Analyst  to join our Mobility Infrastructure Services (MIS) team within Parks and Road Services. You will be essential in leading and executing section projects from initiation to completion, which includes developing comprehensive project charters and business cases. A core function of this role is to provide expert project management, communications, and report writing support for key Mobility Infrastructure Services (MIS) such as District SNIC, Active Pathway Removal, Spring Sweep and Reactive Sanitation; with support to other MIS programs and priorities, as deemed necessary. As a link between strategic plans and current policies, your work will be crucial in delivering various reports, including Council reports, and ensuring clear, consistent communication with all internal and external partners. What will you do?

  • Take projects from initiation to completion, independently managing cross-functional initiatives and applying established escalation protocols
  • Create strategic business cases to justify business needs (including analysis of options, costs, and risks), and translate those into comprehensive project documents like project charters, project plans, Gantt charts, status reports, and project close-out/lessons learned documents; may include completing a large internal and/or public engagement component
  • Manage Partnerships and Communications: Serve as a central liaison for project teams, ensuring clear, consistent communication and acting as the main point of contact for internal and external collaborators
  • You will lead the development of an annual Communications Planning Calendar and manage program-specific email accounts, ensuring timely updates and accuracy of all communication platforms (Web, email, text, 311 etc.) for the Section
  • Lead the development of various reports—including Council, Policy, and Environmental—by interpreting datasets into easily digested qualitative and visual reporting. This involves synthesizing complex data from multiple sources and engaging subject matter experts (SMEs) to develop accurate insights and recommendations; creation of charts, tables, graphics and visual representations
  • Formulate a project team with approval from employee Supervisor(s), chair project meetings and ensure team deliverables are completed in a timely manner with appropriate input, expertise and approvals/reviews
  • Apply a strong working knowledge of Infrastructure Field Operations (like snow and ice control, sweep, and sanitation programs) to provide meaningful recommendations to decision-makers
  • Support Operational Alignment: Handover ongoing operational outcomes of projects to the appropriate teams, and ensure council decisions are incorporated into the section's work planning and reporting frameworks
  • Lead the preparation and submission of funding/grant application for the Section
