Job Description

Adjunct Instructor – Paralegal Program

Please note: Review of applications will begin immediately, and this position will remain open until filled.

The responsibilities of this position include:

  • Teach Law courses within the Paralegal Program in the Business Administration Department.

  • Courses the candidates may be required to teach include but are not limited to the following: LAW 101 - Fundamentals of Law I; LAW 259 - Legal Writing; LAW 261 - Legal Research I; LAW 262 - Legal Research II; and LAW 263 - Ethics.

  • Provide an excellent teaching experience to a diverse student body using effective teaching strategies.

  • Develop syllabi and course materials that may be taught on-ground, online, or hybrid.

  • Evaluate student mastery of skills and competencies required by course outcomes.

  • Participate in appropriate professional development activities.

  • Assignments may be multi-campus with the possibility of evening and/or weekend classes.

  • Participate and enroll in canvas training provided by CSN e-learning department.

Required Qualifications

  • Juris Doctor/JD degree in Law from an accredited American Bar Association (ABA) college/university law school. In addition, five years' work in law related fields.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proficient experience teaching community college/undergraduate law courses or alternatively, a minimum of 1-year part-time community college/undergraduate proficient teaching experience.

  •  Teaching or work experience in canvas or a similar Learning Management System (LMS).

  •  Demonstrated ability to incorporate and utilize a variety of teaching strategies.

  •  Traditional, online, or hybrid instructional platform experience.

Starting Salary Range

Adjunct instructors receive $925 per credit.
