Job Description

The Finance person reports to the Division of Workforce and Economic Development's Executive Director. The position is responsible for providing financial and contract management for DWED's revenue, grants, and state budgets, including, but no limited to: Operations; Business Development; Programs; and Marketing. This includes overseeing all of the Division's LOAs and Wage documents and creating, revising, tracking, and monitoring the Division's program expenditures and revenue. This position is also responsible for preparing financial reports required by DWED's Operation Director and/or Executive Director.

The ideal candidate should possess the following knowledge, skills, and abilities.

  • Demonstrated ability to efficiently and effectively create and manage multiple budgets, and contracts, and meet deadlines
  • Demonstrated ability to prepare financial reports and use cash management strategies
  • Demonstrated ability to provide financial analysis and provide solutions to financial situations/problems
  • Demonstrated ability to collect, analyze, and report on financial data in databases, documents, and presentations
  • Demonstrated ability to create and process invoices, accounts, and payments
  • Demonstrated ability to negotiate contract terms with internal and external partners
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a team-oriented, cross-functional environment
  • Demonstrated ability to relate effectively with a wide diversity of constituents & stakeholders
  • Knowledge of accounting methods to manage cash flow, spending levels, obligations to vendors, and receivables due from clients
  • Knowledge of and ability to use modern financial technology including the (Lumens Registration System and Workday) and tools to find, sort, and process financial information efficiently
  • Outstanding financial and analytical skills

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in an appropriate field with 3 to 4 years of experience which may include some lead worker or supervisory experience OR equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Two (2) years of Accounting, finance economics, or related field experience
  • Proficient in MS Office - Excel

$25 - $30 per hour
