Job Description

To provide general support for the DxS Technical Services department (OTS). This paid part time position reports directly to the manager and/or full time technicians as directed. On-site training of all processes and tools will be provided.

The individual must possess an understanding of and be committed to the efficient operation of the department while maintaining confidentiality. The individual must take pride in the details of the position and be proficient at prioritizing and handling multiple tasks.

  • Work within ticketing system, adding notes and attachments as needed.
  • Assist with customer facing situations ... troubleshooting and resolving technical issues for faculty, staff, and students in lab and classroom environments (on-site training provided).
  • Answers questions and direct students, faculty, and staff to appropriate resources when inquiries are made in person or by phone.
  • Troubleshoot basic hardware, software and network connectivity problems on campus, equipment configuration, asset inventory, and basic record-keeping of job activities.
  • Maintain organization and cleanliness of the office and workbenches, which may include cleaning, vacuuming, recycling of boxes and packaging materials.
  • Bench stock inventory and reporting.
  • Transport, setup, security, and cable wrap of equipment.
  • Assist with asset handling for surplus, salvage, moves, etc. under the supervision of the OTS staff as needed.
  • Assist other OTS teams as needed.

Required Qualifications

  • Must be dependable, punctual, self-motivated, work with minimal supervision.
  • Basic knowledge of computers, office applications, and Internet skills (additional training will be provided).
  • Proficient in Word, Excel, Outlook, Calendar, Internet searching.
  • Able to physically transport and maintain equipment including under desks.
  • Able to lift and transport 25-50+ lbs. repeatedly throughout the day.
  • Smile and be productive in your work.
  • Maintain academic standing in order to maintain employment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Pursuing or interested in pursuing an IT-related vocation.
  • Successfully completed IS101 or equivalent course or study.
  • MTA, CompTIA (A+, Network+, Cloud+, Security+), ACMT, HDI, etc.
  • Letter of reference from faculty

$11.50 Hourly
