Job Description

For Semester/Term: Fall 2024

Hiring Department: Hospitality Management/Culinary Arts

Supervisor: John Geislinger

Location: North Las Vegas Campus

Work Hours per week: Up to 16.0

Schedule: Any combination of the following, from October 3 to November 30:

· Tuesdays 11am – 3 pm

· Wednesdays 11am – 3pm

· Thursdays 11am – 3 pm and/or 5pm – 9pm

Must be available for complete shift on each day chosen

Hourly Rate of Pay: $14.00

· A hot meal will be provided during each scheduled shift

What our office does: This job supports the students in the Culinary Arts program who are learning how to cook meals for the public.

Position Description

Duties are for anything needed to assist the department. This may include the following duties:

· Washing dishes and equipment in Russel's Restaurant kitchen

· General clean-up of kitchen after students are done for the day

Our services benefit: CSN students , faculty and staff, and the community outside of CSN

Work Experience in our Department supports the following Degree/Certificate Programs:

· Hospitality Management majors with emphasis in:

o Culinary

o Pastry Arts

o Food and Beverage Administration

Required Qualifications

Employees must obtain and maintain, at their own expense, a Southern Nevada Health Department – Food Handler's Safety Training card (may wait to be hired before obtaining card)

Ability to bend, stoop, stand and walk

Able to work with potential allergens including, but not limited to: nuts, fish/shellfish, eggs, milk, wheat, and chemicals

Preferred Qualifications

Be friendly, outgoing, and willing to learn; have a good understanding of diverse multicultural environments; be able to follow directions and communicate well; be punctual, reliable, and trustworthy.
