DIRECTOR OF PHARMACY – FULL TIME
ADVANCED SPECIALTY HOSPITAL OF TOLEDO (ASHOT)
TOLEDO, OHIO


Comprehensives Pharmacy Services (CPS) manages the pharmacy service at Advanced Specialty Hospital located in Toledo, OH and is seeking a FULL TIME Director of Pharmacy for the hospital inpatient Pharmacy Services.

Responsibilities: As a Full time, exempt, Director of Pharmacy with Comprehensive Pharmacy Services your responsibilities include overseeing all pharmacy operations including planning, organizing, controlling, and supervising activities, according to hospital policies, standards of practice of the profession, and state and federal laws. You will recommend innovations in the practice and function of the pharmacy to hospital administration and carry out mutually agreed upon programs with assistance from a full support team. We'll rely on you to establish a collaborative and constructive relationship with all healthcare staff, create pharmacy workflows and processes that maximize safety and minimize costs and to motivate the pharmacy staff to a high standard of achievement. The Director of Pharmacy will perform some staffing duties and supervises the pharmacy staff members.

About the Facility: Advanced Specialty Hospital of Toledo (ASHOT) is a 40-bed Long Term Acute Care Hospital providing care for patients that are medically complex, stable, and require an extended hospitalization. Patients are regularly admitted from the short-term acute care. ASHOT reguarly admit patients from hospital Intensive Care Units, Step down Units, or Cardiac Units. Accredited by the Joint Commission, registered by the state of Ohio and Medicare Certified, Advanced Specialty Hospital of Toledo prides itself on working together as a close knit family to ensure integration of care and support that is personally tailored to every patient. Patients benefit from the unique, state of the art LTACH environment which provides for the patient's acute medical care in a professional, university quality environment which maximizes patient's recovery options. LTACH care differs from nursing homes and subacute care in many ways. Patients are medically complex requiring daily physician visits, critical care ACLS trained nurses, respiratory therapists, pharmacists, dieticians, social workers, discharge planners, dialysis technicians, and physical therapists, occupational therapists, and speech language pathologists. Management of this pharmacy is by Pharmacy Systems, Inc. (PSI.) This position is an employee of PSI.

Required Qualifications:

  • BS or PharmD from an accredited School of Pharmacy
  • State Pharmacist licensure in good standing
  • Management experience in a healthcare/hospital environment.
  • Ability to solve problems, establish trust and credibility.
  • ​Demonstrated teaching, relevant professional publications and involvement with Professional organizations.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, set priorities, make critical decisions, respond to client concerns and work cooperatively with other staff
